A Resident-Owned Community is a neighborhood of manufactured homes that’s owned by a cooperative of homeowners who live there as opposed to an outside landlord. In March 2024, the Idaho Legislature passed a bill requiring owners of mobile home parks to notify tenants prior to engaging in a sales agreement if they intend to sell. There are private companies that can help manufactured home park tenants form HOAs and obtain financing so they can become owners of the real estate and aren't subjected to rising rental costs.
